Frequently Asked Questions
What will we do if it’s raining?
There’s plenty to do indoors in this city as a last-minute backup plan. If you like museums, live music, food, shopping or anything in between, we should have no trouble playing things by ear. If the weather is bad enough to affect travel, we will cancel accordingly.
Will you take us to O Block?
No. We have every desire to take people wherever they would like to go, provided we are benefitting the community we love in doing so. However, we’re well aware that some places like O Block are well-known specifically because of the epidemic of gang violence in this city. We don’t want to do anything that would glorify a lifestyle that well-meaning residents of these areas work hard to resist, nor do we want to put anyone we guide at risk. Plus, one of us already turned down such an experience this one time for the world to see.
Where did you get all the neat Chicago photos on this website?
Nearly all of the photos you can find here are taken by ours truly, just from our everyday lives in this magnificent city. Whether it be a big festival or just walking through our surrounding blocks, there’s always something to catch the eye if you stop to take in the sights. The skyline may be picturesque and visible from all sorts of vantage points across the city, but the glorious one-of-a-kind housing stock, varied street art and luscious foliage make for beauty at every level.
Can we go outside the city limits?
Absolutely! We want to focus on Chicago itself in our information material as there’s so much that gets overlooked in its many neighborhoods, but we would be glad to take you to anywhere in the vicinity. Just keep in mind that, with some exceptions that are adjacent to the city, many such destinations can take a while to get to and may necessitate driving both ways.
Are the tours only available in English?
Nope, Spanish too! Our founder has been speaking Spanish for almost his entire life, and more of our team members also know the language. We would be delighted to give tours fully in Spanish or in any bilingual combination.
Should I be worried about safety?
We at See Chi Go are a group of seasoned travelers, both within and far beyond Chicago. Not only have we survived this city, but all over the place in countries that often face far more trouble. While we can’t give total guarantees of anything in life, you can rely us to give the best guidance possible on staying in the right places at the right times. Just be sure to take our advice accordingly if we think any situation might require some extra caution. With all that being said, we enjoy our lives in Chicago and we try not to let safety concerns stop the good times. We’ll make sure the same is true for you!
How does payment work?
Online payment is coming soon, or you can pay by cash on the day of the tour. Please confirm with us 48 hours prior to the tour that you will be attending so we may plan accordingly.
