Bundev Singh Sawhney

Hello! I’m Bundev, the founder of See Chi Go. I was born and raised just outside Chicago in Evanston, but my connections from a young age to the city through family and friends only vastly strengthened when I moved in two years ago. I live in the diverse North Side neighborhood of Albany Park, but you can catch me regularly hopping all over the city everywhere from Rogers Park to Bronzeville to Uptown. I speak at least five languages, with Spanish in particular being of great use with my numerous Hispanic neighbors and friends. I’m involved in volunteer work in West Rogers Park, a neighborhood full of Indian cultural institutions including the Sikh temple that I would visit with my family from a young age. While I have traveled to dozens of countries in my life, I see just about all of them represented between my neighborhood and this community work! In my free time I run often, but when the weather permits I prefer biking so that I can see more of the city’s views at once. And all that working out just makes me an even bigger international foodie!

I’ve seen so much inspiring work across Chicago, and my goal with this project is to break down barriers so that we aren’t limited to seeing only small parts of the whole. I hope to see people transcend cultures, ages and backgrounds to make for a more equitable future.
